Gabriel Saucedo, Officer, EOW: 6/2/2005
A one year veteran of the Arizona Department of Corrections, Officer Gabriel Saucedo, died while conducting his duties as a perimeter officer at the Arizona State Prison Complex in Safford. He was alone in the vehicle when his 9mm Glock service revolver accidently discharged. The bullet went through his hand and struck him in his leg. Because of the massive bleeding, even the medical flight could not get him to the hospital in time to save his life.
Verified by the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial, the ADC Officer Memorial webpage, the Correctional Peace Officer Foundation and the National Officer Down Memorial page. The 100 Club of Arizona has recognized Officer Saucedo’s death as having occurred in the Line of Duty.
