for this Committee and for the Department of Corrections, because of the importance that we all place on honoring and memorializing our fallen employees.
There have been 12 AZ Department of Corrections employees who have lost their lives in service to the state and its citizens. Not all have worn a uniform either, which previously negated them from being honored on existing Memorials.
Now, all of their honorable service and ultimate sacrifice will be forever commemorated with this special memorial dedicated to their memory and our appreciation.
With the Legislation signed, the Fallen ADC Employees Memorial Committee is finalizing the design with the architectural firm of Arrington Watkins, who is graciously donating their services to our cause. We are also following the proper protocol by obtaining approval from the various governmental entities that have approved placement of our Memorial between the 1601 W. Jefferson and 1645 W. Jefferson ADC Central Office Buildings. Additionally, we have begun the fund raising necessary to pay for the construction of the Memorial. Our goal is to finish all fund raising, construct the Memorial and hold the dedication in time to honor the Arizona Department of Corrections’ first 50 years in existence as a state agency in May of 2018
Please honor our corrections employee heroes with your donation of support.
Stan Bates, Chairman
Fallen ADC Correctional Employees Memorial Committee
